Outsourced follows an American call centre manager sent to India to train his replacement team after his department is offshored. Initially frustrated by cultural differences and performance issues, he gradually adapts, building relationships and rethinking his assumptions about work and identity.
The film is excellent for HR, cross cultural management and service operations. It illustrates the human side of offshoring, training and performance management, as well as stereotypes, adaptation and mutual learning. It can support exercises on intercultural competence, motivation and global staffing decisions.
The teaching cases provide real-world examples and practical insights that can be used by students, educators, and professionals alike.
